wah... just now went to OUG pasar malam with hong, keat, jc and zt. on the way back to the car, dunno why suddenly i just tilted my head to look at the sky. and i saw the MOST AMAZING thing ever.
i just went "WAH". and the rest of the gang looked at it too. it was SO beautiful.
what did we see?
well, we saw the moon. nothing special, but there was something else circling the moon. well, basically a circle. it was breathtaking. we literally leaned against the car for a few minutes just to enjoy the beautiful gift of nature. no one knew what this phenomenona was, (i kinda knew but wasn't sure of the name of it) but we were just in awe of it.... till i shrieked : "THE SKY IS FALLING DOWN!!!!!!" xD

did some research and i found it out.
it's called a halo. (i was right!!! ^^) this sight occurs when high thin clouds containing millions of tiny ice crystals cover much of the sky. each ice crystal acts like a miniature lens. because most of the crystals have a similar elongated hexagonal shape, light entering one crystal face and exiting through the opposing face refracts 22 degrees, which corresponds to the radius of the Moon Halo. a similar Sun Halo may be visible during the day. (ok actually i don't really understand as well. just copied it somewhere of the net xD )
the picture shows the distant planet Jupiter which
appears by chance just to the left of the Moon.
aren't they pretty?!?!?! mother nature's so wonderful. aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh....
even though it says that this kinda sights occur quite often, i believe it's the 1st time i saw it. and i can say it's a sight to behold. :)
