ipoh food trip production

LONG POST AHEAD

(you don't have to read it, i just wanna jot it down while my memory is still fresh so i can remember it as vividly as i can in the future, thus the thorough descriptions)

production numero dos: DONE!

after class on friday, the crew went up to Ipoh to shoot a tv filler for our TVP I Assignment 1.

we departed at 5+ and reached at 8. not long after we started our journey, we gave in to our growling tummies and stopped at sungai buloh restoran jejantas to grab a bite haha.

our accommodation for this trip was adrian's hometown house. it rained earlier so it dampened our plans of shooting the local nightmarket. although i was still full from A&W double mozza burger set earlier on, his dad still bought us dinner at a hawker centre. so after taking turns to bathe, we played a super silly game and laughed like hyenas. after a constant complaining by a certain someone, we retired for the day.

next morning we woke up super early to shoot time lapse at a beautiful roundabout. it was so quite and serene with so few cars, and we managed to catch the sunrise, but traffic gradually started to build up haha. we stood at the roundabout for over an hour, with passersby eying us curiously lol. we witnessed an accident, and were evil bystanders, not lifting a finger to help. so bad right?! i wanted to go help but nobody wanted to follow me so... hahaha. okay lame excuse i know. but some good samaritans did help the poor girl who fell of her bike trying to avoid a pile of sand la.

after that we went to eat 料粉 for breki. not bad lo i feel! the ho fun min, wah.. damn smooth. tasted good too. but the rest say ok ok nia. dunno am i too easy to be satisfied or are they the ones who are too yim jim when it comes to food haha.

left the place and headed to Ipoh City Hall and Ipoh Railway Station. we saw Aishah Sinclair there and the horn dog started waggin his tail but no balls to approach her for an interview haha. then we went to shoot some old buildings of Ipoh to show the heritage of Ipoh. makes sense?

lunch was at XXX (can't remember the name haha), next door to the workshop that we went to fix some noise in our mode of transportation. keke. had chicken rice, custard (smooth but i didn't like the caramel, got burnt taste), pie tee/pai tee (yuck hated it all vege only)..

then we went to adrian's alma mater - St. Michael's Institution. their band.. mediocre la. but the formation sucked big time man. hahaha sorry.. the truth hurts blek. and i realize the band members don't like to zip up their fly xD @@

went back to our base camp (adrian's home haha) to rest before heading out in the evening to shoot at 老黄芽菜鸡沙河粉. yes i know chicken rice again haha. but i only ate 1 piece of chicken, cuz i opted to have the dry ho min (干河面) with the super yummy pork meatballs! mmm, scrumptious!! :D but before we ate, we shot la ofcourse. there were many beauty pageant ladies there so we interviewed some of the participants. the horn dog damn happy hahaha...

took our bath and went to the cyber cafe as SOME PEOPLE tak boleh tahan NOT checking their mousehunt ish. not a very good experience there.. hmm..

*snooze*

next morning, wanted to shoot another time lapse but it rained again for quite long, so ofcourse we went back to slumberland to get a little more sleep. when we finally woke up, we went to have our breakfast of hakka mee. then we took off to Super Kinta to shoot a traffic time lapse. had an egg tart.. delish..

*oh ya how can i forget. funny mountain. what a name. but the bak bak (白白) and hak bak (黑白) si beh nice lo! bak bak is taufufa + soy bean, and hak bak is soy bean + grass jelly. YUMZZ!!! their business damn good. it's just a small small stall but got drive thru service okay.. don't play play!*

then suddenly i thought: we're in ipoh. why are we not shooting the original old town white coffee? so we added that to our schedule spontaneously. and the white coffee really very nice even though i'm not a coffee lover haha.

then, we went back to base camp and took our bath and packed our stuff and left our home of 2 days. but we weren't finished eating shooting yet. we went to 大树头. eat again. laksa and rojak. haha.

next stop was Perak Tong. many monkeys. i was scratched by one of them umpteen years ago. anyway, next we went to Sam Poh Tong but it was closed damnit. so we just took shots of the other temples neighbouring it.

then we took shots of a row of shops selling pomelos. all the same, who to buy from???

after that, we headed back home! real home! hahaha...

that marks the end of our journey.

THE END.

not quite yet haha.
